Responsibilities
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity, prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, iterating on designs, determining information architecture, and responsive design.
Project duration
January 2020 to March 2020

Research Goals

  • Determine what features people want in a diet.
  • Understand people’s tastes to create a menu.
  • Find out how much consumers are willing to pay.
  • Find out what motivates people to use a food ordering app.
  • Determine what motivates people to use these programs.
  • Find out what can discourage the user.

The problem

  • As life becomes busier, there is less time to prepare food and people need to have access to their favorite foods in different places.
Approach

Design Process

1. Discovery Build deep understanding and identify needs

UX Audit
  • I typically start my projects with a UX Audit. It’s an exercise that allows me to highlight usability issues, identifying areas for improvement. I also learn a lot about how the product works and its interaction with the user from the UX Audit.
  •

    Stakeholder Interviews
    • These are exploratory conversations with the most relevant stakeholders and product users. They provide us with the background I need to understand the context of the product’s market. These interviews point me in the right direction in terms of prioritizing tasks and the definition of objectives.
    •

      Secondary Research
      • Reviewing all relevant literature about the project’s topic enhances our team’s understanding of the problem and “gets me up to speed.” This requires a few days of good old university type of research, reading books, white-papers, reports, business data, and watching related videos on YouTube.
      •

        Survey
        • To better understand the needs of users, we sent a survey to users aged 15 to 70 to get more insight into how much users care about ordering food online, how much they have had a similar experience, what are the painful points and ...
        •

          Interviews
          • We conducted 7 interviews with people with different occupations (student, housewife, employee, freelancer, etc.) and completely different ages to obtain in-depth qualitative responses to key aspects of the announcement
          •

            Summary
            • I did surveys and interviews and created empathy maps so I could understand the users I design for and their needs. Our user group was different, mostly people who did not have enough time to cook But further research has shown that it is not just the timing of people’s problems, but also the preparation of raw materials, as well as sudden events that can occur many times or challenges that made it difficult to obtain food for cooking.
            • • Most who have used a meal delivery service in the past started because of a coupon or other incentive.
              • Incentives do not work to keep customers. Just offer the best service at a decent price to begin with.
              • People like variety and the flexibility to choose according to their diet needs/restrictions.
              • Quality of ingredients was of high importance.
              • Counting calories and keeping track of macros was especially important to the success of keeping a healthy diet.

2. Insight It allows us to create a clear path forward for our clients by incorporating a deep understanding of their users’ needs

Persona

After talking to several people during the interview, I developed Farid, my main persona. Farid is single and he lives with her friend. He is a freelancer and works much time at different hours of the day. He wants to eat better but doesn’t like the idea of having to meal plan. He likes variety and flexibility. Farid is interested in various foods and drinks and different ordering hours, Farid represents a group of people. I also felt this was a good opportunity to map Farid’s persona and journey through the product and log how he might feel at various points during his experience to better understand.

User Journey Map

Mapping Alireza’s app user journey revealed how helpful it would be for users to have access to a dedicated farid’s app

Ideation

As a UX designer, I defined key functions, identified hopes and fears, and discussed and combined and framed the information architecture between user and company through various storytelling modes. I conducted workshops and sketching sessions with the team to map out the user flow and come up with a storyboard.

3. Design Design that provide value and guide users to their goals

4. Feedback The last step in the design process to validate the product. Experiments designed to confirm or reject suggested solutions

User Testing
After prototype preparation, interactive experiments were performed. User test participants had no major problems with the tasks at hand and were able to perform all tasks quickly. 5 users 5 tasks The user tasks requested to perform are:
• Choose your favorite food and place an order.
• Examine the details of each food.
• Check your order before payment.
• Register your location.
• Check the latest books listed.
